Similar to the recent storm tore through the northern region the night before, Manchester City overwhelmed the visitors away at the Etihad Stadium. It was a emphatic three goal win for their manager's side due to goals from Knaak, Shaw and Lauren Hemp. It was a display that truly announced their leadership claims as they reinforced their place at the top of the table.

Successive Defeats for United

This outcome represented consecutive league setbacks for the United manager's side for the first time since May 2024, putting them seven points off the top team with their championship aspirations in serious doubt.
