The New England Patriots equaled their top unbeaten stretch from the Tom Brady period as they beat AFC East rivals the New York Jets 27-14 in the NFL

First-year standout Henderson shone brightly with three touchdowns as the New England squad claimed an eighth straight win for the initial occasion since star signal-caller Brady's last year with the franchise in 2019

Quarterback Drake Maye accumulated 281 yards and a TD, connecting on 25 of 34 passes

The win increases the New England's advantage at the top of the division as they improved to a 9-2 record, with the Jets bottom after falling to a 2-8 mark

The opposing team had gone in front at Foxborough with QB Fields scoring a short rushing score to conclude the New York's opening drive

But the home team responded in the second period as the rookie ran in two seven-yard touchdowns before the ball carrier caught a pass from Drake Maye at the rear of the end zone midway through the third period to push the score to 21-7

"That was a crucial moment for him stepping up, and it's been excellent for him to keep earning playing time," Maye commented on Henderson. "He desires to be great."

Fields connected with John Metchie toward the end of the third quarter to close the gap for the visitors but Borregales booted a two kicks in the final period as the home side wrapped up the triumph
