Two Men Formally Indicted with Inmate Homicide of Lostprophets Singer Ian Watkins

Two men have been formally charged with murder in the wake of the incarceration fatality of former Lostprophets singer and adjudicated child sex criminal Ian Watkins.

Samuel Dodsworth, 43, and Rashid Gedel, 25 now face murder accusations and are scheduled to appear in Leeds magistrates’ court on Monday morning, per investigating officers.

Watkins, 48 years old, was serving a 29-year sentence at HMP Wakefield, alongside six more years under supervision, after admitting a string of sex offences including the tried rape of a very young child.

Watkins was apprehended subsequent to a drugs warrant at his Pontypridd home on 21 September 2012, when a substantial collection of electronic devices including computers, phones and drives were seized.
